Abstract

The majority of Indonesian Islamic society still considers English lessons to be non-religious, putting aside interest in learning English. Students' parents are concerned about the negative effects of Western culture on their children if they learn English without being exposed to Islamic values. The purpose of this research is to investigate the reflection of Islamic values in the English teaching and learning process. It includes the preparations made by English teachers as well as the process of Islamic values that are reflected in the learning and teaching of English. The descriptive qualitative method is used in this study. The result of the study found that Islamic values are reflected in English teaching in MTs QP. It has been proven by English teacher who go through five stages of preparation when it comes to reflecting Islamic values: defining the context, articulating beliefs, formulating goals, conceptualizing content, and developing materials. It was also discovered that three processes were involved in reflecting Islamic values, namely pre-teaching, while-teaching, and post-teaching. The findings of this study may be of interest to policymakers in Islamic educational institutions.
