Abstract

Abstract: underachiever is a psychosocial conditions experiencedby the child so it causes the failure in achievement related to hisability. Psychological factors relate to the children characteristicswhile social factors relate to the less responsive environment andless attention to the child.This lack of motivation in the childs progress and learning is apart of the psychological aspects that determine the child becomesan underachiever. While low motivation is triggered by negativeassessment itself. Under-achiever children tend to lack confidencein their own abilities as a result of the low perception or a picture ofyourself that is formed from environmental influences. As a result,the children have less confidence in the success or less believes thatthey are able to achieve success in the end a low motivation to learn.Besides environmental factors of personality factors also have amajor impact on the cause of an underachiever, a teacher whoignores more children into the cause worsening underachiever. Alsoparents pay less attention to the childs learning so that children nostrength to want to realize the capabilities that the achievementsare not in accordance with their potential (intelligence).
