Abstract

Nowadays, in the era that always brings updates in science and technology along with the progress from year to year such as the case of the Covid-19 pandemic era that restricted activities outdoor. However, at the beginning of January 2021, kemendikbud issued a policy of face-to-face learning is limited. Considering this situation, SMP NU Putri Nawa Kartika Kudus also applies a Blended Learning Model by Using WhatsApp. That type is the face-to-face driver model which is like a traditional classroom where class-based learning is the main learning, while online learning is support or complementary learning in class. The purpose of this research is: (1) to know how is the implementation of blended learning model. (2) to find out the obstacles and the solutions to obstacles. (3) to find out the benefits of implementing blended learning model in English learning during the Covid-19 pandemic era at the eighth grade of SMP NU Putri Nawa Kartika Kudus. This research is the type of descriptive qualitative research which is the instruments and data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. From this research, it can be seen that SMP NU Putri Nawa Kartika Kudus has implemented a blended learning model during the Covid-19 pandemic. There are obstacles, solutions to the obstacles, and also the benefits encountered in implementing blended learning using WhatsApp in English learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.
