Abstract

The thesis discussed The Implementation of English Songs on Spotify App in Improving Students’ Vocabulary Mastery in 9th Grade of MTs Nurul Islam Kriyan. The researcher's interest to take this title is based on the problem faced by the 9th-grade Students of MTs Nurul Islam Kriyan in lack of vocabulary mastery. The research objevtives of the research were: (1) to find out the implementation of English Songs on the Spotify Application in improving students’ vocabulary mastery, and (2) To identifed the obstacles and solutions to improving students’ vocabulary mastery. This research used a case study in the field, where the researcher directly conduct the research at MTs Nurul Islam Kriyan. Also, using the qualitative method with data analysis obtained through observation, interview, and documentation with the participants in the field. With the participants of the research were the headmaster, the English Teacher, and 9th-grade students of MTs Nurul Islam Kriyan. Later, the implementation was done in 3 stages as planning, practice and evaluation and then analysis within some phases such as data reduction, data display, data interpretation, and conclusion drawing. This research found out (1) the implementation conducted through some stages such as planning, practice, and evaluation could help the students in the improving vocabulary mastery.The implementation of English Songs on the Spotify Application could improve students’ vocabulary mastery amount 3 – 7 words. And, in the process of implementation, the students feel comfortable, happy, interested, and relaxed during the song played. (2) The Obstacles in the implementation were the none translation lyrics, unavailable devices/ tools, limited time, and The diversity of Tecaher’s Major. Besides the solution were find the translation by their selves, an practise by a group in the class, and repetition In addition, the students' feel comfortable, interest and enjoyable by using English songs on Spotify application in improving students vocabulary mastery is faced by students who have lacked English vocabulary.
